Let’s Try This Again

Hello, friends! It’s been a couple years since I sent you one of these li’l messages and so much has happened. I hope to catch you up now that I’m back to regularly scheduled programming.

But you probably have some questions, so let’s get to ’em.

Where did you go?

So I stopped blogging around summer 2023 because I needed more time to write. Back then I had two novels in the pipeline at the same time, and I decided that strong, well-written books were a better gift to readers than my bi-weekly musings, fun as they may be.

That was also around the time I grew concerned about how my old newsletter platform, Substack, made its money. I won’t ruin the mood by talking about that now, but bottom line, I’ve switched to Squarespace.

Wait, when did that happen? I didn’t sign up for Squarespace…?

Literally today. The switch didn’t require anything on your part—if you were a subscriber from Substack or from MailChimp before that, you’re still on the mailing list. Nothing should change on your end, except now you’ll be getting stuff from me again!

What kind of stuff?

The same stuff I used to talk about—books, pop culture, writing craft, and the publishing business (though maybe not too much on this last one). The newsletter was always my first stop for announcing new releases, events, and behind-the scenes info, and that won’t change too. And just like before, the blog posts on my website will also arrive in your inboxes.

Any new stuff?

Well, yes! There’s a new novel project I’m agonizing over—can’t wait to yammer about that one—not to mention all the brilliant new books, shows, places, and experiences that I recently enjoyed or am about to enjoy.

Oh, and there’s a new book coming out in November, you may have heard about it…

I’m not going to bore you with promo right now, but the advance reviews have been great, and there are giveaways and a book tour on the horizon. More on these soon!

For now, I just want to reintroduce myself and thank you for continuing to join me on my writing journey. I’ve missed connecting with you all, and I hope you’re as glad as I am to be back.
